The grail!

Power computation:

Terms:
Tradition - A contiguous cluster of power generator blocks.  All blocks must be face to face, edge or corner contact does not count.
Bounding box - The smallest imaginary (cuboid) box that would fully encompass the tradition.

For a given tradition of power blocks where the bounding box dimensions are x,y,and z, and where there are n total number of power blocks in the tradition:

power= 2000000*(1/(1+(1.000696)^(-((x+y+z)/3)^(1.7)*(1/3)))-.5)+(25n)

Or as simplified by wolfram:

Power Regen= 2000000 (1/(1.000696^(-0.0514959 (x+y+z)^1.7)+1)-0.5)+25 n

(2000000/(1.000696^(-0.0514959 (x+2)^1.7)+1)-1000000)+25 x

Inspiration: Star Trek Prometheus Class

The Prometheus class was created to evoke the Earth legend about the titan Prometheus who defied the gods to bring fire to humans.    It doesn't take much imagination to see this sleek war engine "bestowing fire" in a far less benevolent sense.

The Prometheus was developed as a reaction to the mounting threats of the 24th century that made the 22nd and 22rd seem positively peaceful.  Prometheus is actually three nested warp-capable warships, sharing redundant power, shielding and drive systems when connected, or separating and pressing the attack from multiple vectors.  The Prometheus was said to be capable of easily disabling a Romulan D'diridex more than twice her size.

Unfortunately, current star-made docking dynamics do not yet allow this level of coolness.  But I have a special request from my son... so this ship is likely to happen sooner rather than later.

Inspiration: Star-Trek Luna Class

When commander... pardon me.... CAPTAIN Riker finally gave up on waiting for a certain bald Frenchman to retire to the admiralty board.  His first commissioned command was to the Titan, a Luna class exploratory vessel.  Not so big as the Enterprise or her name would suggest, the Titan was an explorers ship from the frame up, while history had reshaped the Enterprise into a graceful weapon.

Star Trek (movies+) K't'inga

Photohttp://star-made.org/node/9600

Mass: 7988.2
LxWxH = 218x63x138
Power:1102492.6 (1073558.3 e/s)
Thrust 21620
Shields 322789 (7269 s/sec) Recovery: 3.0

The K't'inga was the "new" Klingon ship designed for "The Motion Picture".  It really is substantially similar to the D7.  It's supposed to be a new ship model, rather than a retrofitted older craft, but it bears a lot closer resemblance to the D7 than does the "refitted" enterprise to its appearance in the original series.

Star Trek D7 Battle Cruiser

PhotoKlingon: http://star-made.org/node/9598
Mass: 6588.4
LxWxH = 218x64x140
Power:606160.6 (854567.1 e/s)
Thrust 18844.5
Shields 96394 (3045 s/sec) Recovery: 2

Romulan: http://star-made.org/node/9598
Mass: 6596.9
LxWxH = 218x64x140
Power:606160.6 (854567.1 e/s)
Thrust 18844.5
Shields 96394 (3045 s/sec) Recovery: 2

The D7 Cruiser was the standard enemy ship of the original Star Trek series.  Designed by Walter "Matt" Jeffries to evoke the threatening lines of a manta-ray these ships became the instantly recognizable face of the enemy.

Star Trek TOS Miranda Class

Faction: Federation
Era: TOS

Mass: 17058
LxWxH = 244x65x152
Power:4688742.8 (1178168.4e/s)
Thrust 31779.2
Shields 145902 (4104s/sec) Recovery: 2

The deceptively large interior space makes this a versatile craft, equippable for exploration, cargo or combat.  The Miranda could also be considered a "pocket carrier" as it's large shuttle bay allows it to carry as many as a dozen shuttles or fighters.

Star Trek TOS Constitution Class

Faction: Federation
Era: TOS

Version 2: http://star-made.org/node/9649
Mass: 14889.9
LxHxW: 311x78x148
Power Capacity: 4687480.3
Power Generation: 1119397 e/sec
Thrust: 15927.5
Shields 148213 (4150 s/sec) Recovery:2

Version 1: http://star-made.org/node/9016
Mass: 14615.1
LxHxW: 311x78x148
Power Capacity: 4687480.3
Power Generation: 1097046.8e/sec
Thrust: 14613.6
Shields 75650 (2557 s/sec) Recovery:1

I've been working up to this one for a while. I wanted to give this ship a really respectful treatment. For a lot of people this is THE starship. This is the Constitution class starship exemplified by the iconic USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) from the original 1964 "Star Trek" television series.   All credit to Walter Matt Jeffries for the original concept and design from which I worked as closely as I could manage.

Star Trek TOS Saladin Class

TOS Saladin class

Saladin Version 2: http://star-made.org/node/9650
Mass: 10916.3
LxHxW: 261x71x148
Power Capacity: 4687480.3
Power Generation: 1081294 e/sec
Thrust: 14405.6
Shields 112106 (3394 s/sec) Recovery:2

One of the ships you really never see on screen. Saladin class destroyers are low-warp capable light combat ships. This was the Federation's version of a PT boat. Mostly I built it as practice, and as a stepping stone to a constitution class heavy cruiser like the Enterprise from the Original Series.

Star Trek Defiant Class

Faction: Federation
Era: TNG

Mass: 4484.2
LxWxH = 122x23x92
Power:1345156 (433336.3e/s)
Thrust 7394.4
Shields 51365 (1935 s/sec) Recovery: 1
(not to be confused with the TOS constitution class star ship of the same name NCC-1764)

The Defiant class was designed as a "Borg fighter" It was therefore exceptionally tough and well armed for its size and incorporated the latest technologies.

Star Trek NX Class Refit

Faction: Starfleet/Federation
Era: Enterprise

Mass: 12035.6
LxHxW = 228x67x132
Power:325540 (1068041.5 e/s)
Thrust 11359.3
Shields 87113.0 (2831 s/sec) Recovery: 2

The Original NX class,  but adds a secondary hull. The story, as I understand it, is that had the program “Enterprise” aired a fifth season, the eponymous ship would have been fitted with a new “Warp 7” engine. The trouble is that the new engine did not fit in the engineering bay for the old “Warp 5” engine. The engineering solution was to build a new secondary hull onto the bottom of the ship, housing the new over-sized engineering section and warp core. If you look closely at the aft section of the secondary hull you will see an odd structure that looks like a shuttle or something that should detach. That’s the housing for the intermix chamber of the engine core. This ship was designed to eject the whole section in the case of an impending core breach. For this model it’s only decorative. Don’t try ejecting your core, it won’t help.

Star Trek NX Class Version 2

StarTrek1to1_NX_Rebuild http://star-made.org/node/8359

Mass: 10570
LxWxH = 266x53x132
Power:72463.6 (1047337.7 e/s)
Thrust 11359.3
Shields 87113 (2831s/sec) Recovery: 2.0

Please remember (you bloody war-mongers) just because your ship is covered in weapons and turret mount points does NOT mean you are supposed to shoot first and negotiate later.. Say it with me “We come in peace!”

Star Trek NX Class

The NX class warp-5  starshipStar-made address: http://star-made.org/node/6247

This is the ship from the show "Enterprise" predating the original series. Scale is 1 to 1. Ship is well armed, well shielded and well powered. Turrets have been added.... in case diplomacy fails.

Unofficial Origin of the K't'inga

PhotoIn 2269 as figured on Earth, the great Klingon shipwright N'hoj of the house of Kohn was approached by a famous young general.  His name has been lost to history, and that should be your first hint as to how things would turn out.  The General felt that the venerable Klingon Battlecruiser was getting old and should be replaced within the Klingon imperial navy by a new design.  N'hoj accepted the assignment.

Open for business...

For those of you who happened in here by accident, I've gotten addicted to a game called StarMade. ...which sounds a bit awkward as a name really, except that its a LOT like MineCraft, but in space. so Space Craft? Too generic! StarCraft? Soo very taken. Right! Star Made it is. So... anyway. It's a sandbox game of building and exploration where pretty much everything is made of 1 meter cubic blocks. But you can build, arm, and pilot space ships that you build out of these blocks. It's like every LEGO set I ever wanted as a kid. What did I build with my LEGO blocks? I built space-ships! A match made in heaven!
