Star Trek Defiant Class

Faction: Federation
Era: TNG

Mass: 4484.2
LxWxH = 122x23x92
Power:1345156 (433336.3e/s)
Thrust 7394.4
Shields 51365 (1935 s/sec) Recovery: 1
(not to be confused with the TOS constitution class star ship of the same name NCC-1764)

The Defiant class was designed as a "Borg fighter" It was therefore exceptionally tough and well armed for its size and incorporated the latest technologies.

This 1 to 1 scale model of the Defiant was also a test bed for new star-made techniques... with varying success.

Experiment #1: Internally dockindg shuttle with remote activated bay doors: Success!

I constructed a plex-door target within the docking bay that can be activated with the docking beam. When struck, the plex-doors "open" allowing easy egress:

Experiment #2: Liquid Energy Core/ Liquid Engine :Success!

The Defiant utilizes a construction technique that efficiently Power and shield with either battery or thrust. Distributed small "traditions" means you won't be crippled by a lucky hit to a sensitive spot, and the combined energy/shield/thrust structure can be moulded to fit tightly into oddly shaped hulls.

Take apart my engine to see how it's done.

Experiment #3: Internally mounted turret Almost kinda works...almost

I wanted to see if I could build an internally mounted turret. It mounts internally. It tracks enemies and shoots at them. The shots are harmlessly blocked by the hull of the ship. Oh well. I left it in place in case anyone wants to play with it.
